Lectors are trained to proclaim the readings from Sacred Scripture during Mass, and to announce the intentions for the General Intercessions whenever a Deacon is not assisting at the altar. Parishioners must be 16 years of age and older, have received the Sacrament of Confirmation, be in good standing with the Catholic Church and actively practicing their faith.
